Several months ago I began a journey, a spiritual one, to find some meaning in my life.  I’ve publicly admitted to some sins, asked for and hopefully received forgiveness for them too. While this journey will more than likely continue until the day I die, it has opened me eyes to the good, the bad, and the ugly.

During one of my visits to the church I attend, Woodcrest, I heard a song that I listen to frequently. It’s called “Beautiful Darkside”.  It was originally performed by a group called Classic Crime but the Woodcrest band did an excellent job performing it during the service.

There’s a message in this song that is applicable to so many aspects of life, and for me, it’s an opportunity to really see the good and bad in everything and everyone.  I share it with you today because there are a lot of people out there who aren’t who you think they are.  They may be beautiful, but they have a darkside, and this beauty hides it.

They say that beauty is skin deep.  That’s very true.  There are a lot of ugly people out there. People who seek revenge because they didn’t get something they wanted.  People who right about the people who seek revenge because they think they know the truth.  People who right about the people who are seeking revenge because they hope they can help others by sharing the ugliness of others.

If you have a beautiful darkside, or know someone that does, help them get back to the good.
