God comforts us in all of our troubles, does He not?
Last week at Woodcrest, a place that I have now declared my home church, Paster Piet invited the congregation to come “home” to his church when they felt like they had no other home to go to.
I have a home, in more ways than one, but feeling at home at Woodcrest these past several months has brought me a new found comfort and joy. This new feeling has also permitted me to ask for forgiveness and acceptance from people I may not get it from, but it gave me the strength to ask.
“3Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of compassion and the God of all comfort, 4 who comforts us in all our troubles, so that we can comfort those in any trouble with the comfort we ourselves receive from God.” — 2 Corinthians 1:3-4
The love I feel from so many when I go to Woodcrest is sometimes overwhelming. Sometimes it feels undeserving, but as I explore my faith, I find more and more comfort in Christ and those who celebrate his life with me.
Have a great Sunday everyone.
