Earlier this year, I bought a book titled Q&A a Day: 365 Questions – 5 Years – 1,825 Answers in an effort to capture different things about my life. There is one question for each day of the calendar year, including the Leap Year, and a place to write your answer for a total of five years.
This last week asked what would my epitaph read? Well, the first thing I did was look up the definition of an epitaph. I was pretty sure I knew what it meant, but it never hurts to confirm when I’m right, right?
Then after reading the definition, the first thing that came to mind was this:
You guessed it…Tombstone…one of my favorite movies ever!
As I’ve gotten older, I’ve thought about things like wills and life insurance policies, but never given much thought to what I would want to have on my tombstone. Needless to say, I have yet to answer that question from December 1, but I guess that’s something I need to think about. I would imagine it would say something along the lines of loving mother, sister, friend and wife, if I get married, and maybe a scripture or something about me living life to the fullest. I’ll have to give it some thought.
What would you have on your epitaph?
